Police Officer Testing Application Period is Currently

Testing Application Period will close on September 17th, 2010
The
Bradley Police Department conducts recruit
officer testing every two years. The next
scheduled test will be on October 9th, 2010. Once
the testing actually occurs it usually takes
anywhere from 8-10 weeks to complete the
interview process and post the initial list.
Officers are selected from the top of the list
as needed and the list remains in effect for two
(2) years from the date of posting.
If a
candidate is not successful in this testing
process, they are invited to reapply again the
next time the department offers testing

1)

SEPTEMBER
17, 2010
at NOON.
When you have completed the application, you
will receive a confirmation number. Save
this number for your records.
2)
Attend Orientation and Written Exam on
Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Kankakee Community
College, 100 College Road, Kankakee, IL.
Orientation begins at
1:30 PM
and testing will immediately follow. Arrive
by
1:00 PM
with a valid Driver’s License or State ID
to sign in.

Qualifications:
Be 21
years of age or 20 years of age with two years of law
enforcement studies / Be a High School graduate or GED /
Be a United States Citizen / Be of Good Moral Character
/ Possess Valid Driver’s License
Successful Completion of following is also required:
Mandatory Orientation / Written Examination / Background
Examination / Oral Interview / Psychological Testing /
Drug Screening / Medical Examination / Completion of
State Training Board Requirements / Completion of BPD
Filed Training Program / Establish area residency within
6 months

The Working Environment
The Bradley Police Department is Located in the heart of
the Village of Bradley. Built in 1976, it houses a
communication center, interview rooms and evidence lab.
In addition the department houses an indoor firearms
range available to all sworn personnel.
The Department
The Bradley Police Department Consists of the Operations
Division which is responsible for the patrol function
and the Support Services Division which consists of
Communications, Records, Public Relations,
Investigations and Administration.
The Operations Division conduct day to
day patrol functions utilizing the most current and
innovative equipment. Officers are equipped with in car
mobile data terminals and are dispatched by
telecommunicators who are assisted through an Enhanced
9-1-1 system.
